Wow! Book four in the Blackthorn series is epic!
Length: 432 pages Published: 24 October 2014
‘Bad can feel good, Jessie. Bad can feel as good as it can get.’
The tattoos covering Eden Reece’s arm tell the tale of a con with an appetite for danger. Even so, arriving at The Circus – the criminal heart of Blackthorn – and demanding an audience with the notorious Pummel, is the sign of a death wish.
Jessie knows that Eden is trouble. Serious trouble. Held captive by Pummel, despite her powers, she also knows how dangerous a game Eden is playing. Yet she can’t ignore a connection far deeper than the physical spark between them – because Jessie has seen Eden before….
Jessie is the only one who can help Eden save those he loves. But as he uncovers her secrets one by one, he can’t ignore the emotions she stirs in him – feelings neither of them dare face. He risks death. If she trusts him, she risks a fate far worse.
As Pummel’s twisted plans become clear, there’s no doubt all hell risks breaking out in Blackthorn. With time running out, together Jessie and Eden might be the only ones that can stop it.
In a thrillingly sensual novel, the stakes in the dark world of Blackthorn just got higher.
I’d advise a reading age of 17+
This is a series that you just have to read!
I can honestly say there was not one page that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. I was enraptured by every word!
This book is a masterpiece
The imagination and dedication that must have gone in to the Blackthorn series is admirable.
Eden and Jessie’s story is a thing of beauty. They are both so strong. I really felt like both were equals in every way, especially after Jessie heals Eden, and I loved how both were the hero for each other, how they both saved each other and trusted each other.
The side story of Eden protecting his family, especially his niece warmed my heart, for him to play a literal hero for a sick little girl made me love him even more!
I find it fascinating how Lindsay has managed to make almost everyone a potential enemy. No one is safe. No one is to be trusted. You can’t decide who is ultimately the good guy just as it is impossible to guess the eventual outcome.
In this book we are shown a whole new side to Blackthorn, we are shown the south where the humans play, and they play dirty. I found myself thinking the majority of the humans in Blackthorn and those that control it are the villains, which was so refreshing. The people of the circus are serious crazy! Things go on inside that building that could turn your stomach, and as I was reading I found myself feeling ashamed to be human!
This book pulls you in from the very start, I found it hard to come back to reality.
People put the Blackthorn series on your bucket list!
