This is a beautiful written collection. It has a religious theme, but readers don’t have to be religious to love this. I think being spiritual is a different thing and I think this author has captured the beauty of the bible with the love of each other in a well done collection. I hpe readers realize the hard work the author has put into this book. Telling the bible stories with rhyming prose is a painstaking job that has been done by a writer with a beautiful heart. I am so happy that she has shared this work with readers and hope everyone, especially those with children and grandchildren will grab this book and share the wonderful contents. I also think the author did a great job putting in meaningful and beautiful pictures that add to this special collection.

The book took me about 4 hours to read and gave me feelings of joy. Phyllis L. Morneau also seems to have a sense of humor, because I was laughing my butt off while reading the poem about the washing machine. She makes you feel as if you’re one of her own grandchildren while projecting her soul onto the computer screen. My Season of Writing: Bible Bedtime Stories, Poems, Prayers, and Songs can be appreciated by readers of any age. Phyllis displays talent with her second work. I would have definitely loved to have this book read to me as a child and I highly recommend it.

I really love this book! It’s a beautiful compilation of Bible stories done in easy-to-read poetic style. It makes learning about our favorite Bible stories and characters enjoyable and fun! It also contains some personal stories from the author sharing her deep walk with the Lord and her faith in Christ. It’s a great learning and faith-building tool at any age!

About the author

my-picture
Phyllis Morneau was born in 1953 in Manchester, NH and was blessed with a loving Mom and Dad and 2 wonderful sisters. She has been happily married to her husband, Rich, for 43 years and is blessed with 3 sons, 1 daughter, 1 daughter-in-law, and 7 grandchildren. The desire to write a personal memoir for her family, especially her grandchildren, was the reason for writing her 1st book “From My Heart to Yours: A Legacy of Love”. She wanted to share her family’s story and their love and also share God’s story and His amazing love, too. It was originally published in May 2011. Her 2nd book “My Season of Writing” was also written with her grandchildren in mind. It is a collection of Bible Bedtime Stories, Poems, Prayers, and Songs written during a season of her life – this past year. Her grandchildren enjoy reading before going to bed so have enjoyed reading the stories and poems from each book.
